‘The Amazing Race’. Teams of two people race around Kaiapoi

Kaiapoi River Carnival  & Boat Show is scheduled to happen on 17th February 2019.
There will be lots of on water activities – brand new boats in boat show-used boats in another section and an opportunity for people to sell water activity ‘stuff’  swap meet style.
Heaps happening for the kids- Walk on Water Balls, Water Bumper boats, Wipe out, Pirates ship, face painting,
There will be a photo competition- photo to be of the Kaiapoi River between the mouth and the motorway.

Kaiapoi Food Forest's first birthday On the 16th September the Kaiapoi Food Forest on Cass Street in Kaiapoi turns ONE... We want everyone to come, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy wandering around and see the progress the community have made. 11am till 2pm "Growing Food - Growing Community" We have Eco Educate coming, along with All About Bees will be there, Kaiapoi Community Garden will be selling plants and preserves, https://www.facebook.com/recycledplasticdesign/ will be coming with his art, It takes a village will be there, CBK will be there with a BBQ, Coast Guard, St Bartholomews will be there with tea and coffees and Kaiapoi Rocks will have rocks to paint... We want to invite Waimakariri community groups to come along between 11-2, do demonstrations and or have an information table, so they can talk to visitors and answer questions with the hope that they will get new members/volunteers. If you and your group would like to come along, please make contact Brent 3270066 or 027 2224767 SO FAR: Over 800 trees and plants have been donated, over 500 m3 of mulch has been placed in the garden beds, 500lm of border edging have been installed and painted, water barrels have been painted, bikes have been used as plant frames, curved seat has been installed that has a solar panel to charge your phone, Rongoa area has started to be planted, entrance Punga have been planted, pedestrian entrance ways are on Cass and Meadow Streets... Come see plans for what we want to do next.
